Does Sweat Damage the Waist Trainer?


A lot of women are confused about the power of the waist trainer during exercise. Having a regular workout routine is essential for many reasons. It can help you keep in shape, improve overall health, and relieve stress – which we all know is important to have from time to time. What most people don’t know is that sweating will not damage your waist trainer – in fact, it actually helps!

The sweat from a workout helps flush impurities out of the body, lubricate and cushion joints, and deliver nutrients to body tissues. Therefore, sweating is good! The biggest thing to remember is to always rinse your waist trainer after every workout. Sweat and heat can cause bacteria to grow – which will only cause infections.

We highly recommend cleaning it with mild soap and warm water. While you’re doing that, it is also a good idea to remove any excess salt from the skin.


Ok, so now you know sweat is good for health. The one thing most people are concerned about when working out with a waist trainer is.


When working out with a waist trainer, some people notice their sweat is “dropping” into the waist trainer. This is simply sweat popping through the velcro or zipper, and dripping down inside. This does NOT damage the waist trainer.

You should NOT be concerned about that. The waist trainer is meant to trap heat and prevent toxins and heat from escaping. Since there are a lot of allergens and bacteria in sweat, the waist trainer will prevent those from escaping. Just remember that your waist trainer is NOT a sponge – it is not meant to hold a lot of liquid. 

Just rinse it out every time you workout, and you will be fine. Instead of seeing sweat dropping into the waist trainer, you should actually see it as a sign it is working! You should feel the heat from your workout trapped inside – you should feel the heat from your workout trapped inside the waist trainer. This is what you want. The waist trainer is supposed to trap the heat from your body and keep you warm.

Again, the heat from your workout is trapped inside the waist trainer as it’s designed to do. So don’t sweat it! Sweating is good for you! Sweating will not damage your waist trainer. If it stops feeling warm and starts feeling wet, simply rinse it out with water to get rid of the excess sweat.

Remember: Sweating is good for you! Sweating will not damage your waist trainer. If you are unable to wash your waist trainer after each workout, it may start to stink.
